There will be two new jobs in the Endwalker expansion. These are the Sage and the Reaper. The Sage is the newest healer that will be utilizing a Nouliths weapon. Players can only undertake this job should they have a starting level of 70. Some of Sage’s abilities include barrier and healing spells to protect other party members, temporary augmentation of their magic abilities, and the ability to use Aether to manipulate their Nouliths in battle.

The Reaper, on the other hand, is a DPS melee specialist that can call upon an avatar from the Void to aid them when engaging in close-quarter combat. As the Reaper, players have the choice of using two-handed scythe weapons and even serve as a host for the avatar that they have summoned. Much like for the Sage, the Reaper job requires players to have at least a starting level of 70.

Early Circles

Sniping is also easier done when the circles are still big. That way, your targets have a long way to go before reaching you if you miss. Make sure you’re at a high place before sniping! The Bolt-Action Sniper is the best sniping gun, even with its slow reloads and 1-bullet magazine. For a faster, but slightly weaker alternative, the Semi-Automatic Sniper Rifle would do.

Late Circles

At this point, all the remaining players will be crammed into a progressively smaller space. With no distance to gain, some weapons work better in these situations than others. One of which is the Rocket Launcher, which can destroy bases and other players like they were nothing. At shorter distances, it's harder to avoid even with the slow projectile. However, that can still be countered by a Sniper Rifle and a faster reaction time.

Shotguns also make for a good late-game weapon. As long as the target doesn’t have shields, one solid hit with a shotgun can down them. They’re also very good in close ranges, which the storm pushes players into as time passes.

Depending on Range

All weapons have an effective range. Past their limit, weapons lose effectiveness. The guns with the longest ranges are Rocket Launchers and Sniper Rifles. Those with a long to mid-range are Assault Rifles, Bows, and the scoped Crossbow. Mid-range weapons are Grenade Launchers, Shotguns, SMGs, Pistols, and a few Crossbows. Lastly, in the melee range, of course, are the melee weapons.

If you have long-range weapons, it’s best to keep your distance from others. When far away and holding a shotgun, then you should be finding a way to get close to your opponent first. Nobody likes delays, and this one just makes it worse. Waiting to play a game you’ve been anticipating cools down the excitement and lessens the enjoyment of the game overall. It’s starting to ease up with more servers being added, though queues haven’t really gone away yet.

There’s also the problem of flat content. There’s a lot to do, yes, but actually doing it can be repetitive. Quests don’t have much variance between them, and crafting is a cycle of gathering materials and then crafting New World items. Well, because of the abundance of resource nodes, it can be a long time before you’ll have to gather materials again. However, that also makes the period of crafting longer, and that’s more tedious than gathering.

Combat and skills can be a bit clunky for some. Some players enjoyed the skill system, and yet others don’t like how useless some of the skills can be. Maybe this one is influenced more by the player’s preference, as some find the combat nothing to be worried about. The general animation though can still get better. There’s also the black market filled with those who want to buy New World coins. While the game is still new, it’s not quite a problem yet, but you can expect it will become one later on.

While it’s not rare for games to be released with problems, this was a flagship game for a new company. Sure, this can be chalked up to their relative inexperience, but they have to shape up sooner rather than later. Otherwise, if this trend continues, gamers might expect this to happen in future games, which hurts their overall image.
