2.       Play On Worlds With Low Ping

PATH OF EXILE – FIVE HELPFUL VENDOR RECIPE METHODS

As you first start out in Grinding Gear Games' Path of Exile, you may not come across nor understand exactly how well to utilize your inventory using the different vendors found within the game. However, vendor recipes can play a vital role in helping your character become as powerful as it can be.

There are many ways to make the most of your PoE Orbs and overall PoE currency and this short guide will give you an idea of what useful recipes will come in handy, particularly at the game’s onset. You will find a number of common elder items that you may want to instinctively discard, but before you do, consider combining them to make enhancements to your current inventory.

Introduction – Orbs and Blight

You may see similar currency systems in other games such as Diablo, Blade and Soul, Guild Wars and others. PoE’s currency system works predominantly with orbs. To name a few, some key ones include chaos orbs, exalted orbs, jewellers orbs, and others such as the orb of fusing, orb of alchemy, orb of scouring, chromatic orb, orb of chance to name a few which you will come across. Some can come in handy such as the chromatic orb, regal orb, orb of annulment, blessed orb, orb of chance, and the divine orb. All of these can be used in a number of ways, which will get you on your way to acquiring the likes of Cartographers Sextant, Gemcutter's Prism, and more.

Flasks

Skill Gems

Next up is Skill Gems. Gems such as Ethereal Knives, for example, can be used with an Orb of Scouring which will come in very handy as they give you a Skill Gem which will be one level lower. Also, if you have a number of unwanted quality or superior Skill Gems, you can gain the Gemcutter's Prism, which will improve the quality of a reduction gem. Should you have collected a high amount of Skill Gems that have any kind of Vaal fragment, then you will receive a Vaal Orb. This will corrupt any rare item, which can modify it to work in unpredictable ways.

Maps

Another useful way to utilize vendors is Maps. You can get a leveled-up Arcade map by trading in three maps of the same kind. If you are looking to increase the quality of the map, then trading one in with a Stone Hammer will give you a Cartographer's Chisel. Keep in mind that if you would like to get your hands on the chisel, you will need the hammer that you are trading to be at least 20% quality in order for it to work. This strategy will come in handy later in the game when you have a lot of lower level tier maps that you won't need anymore, so it is a great way to acquire the upgraded maps that you will need late on.

Combining with Amulets

Bandit quests can conjure up a number of rewards, one set of which is onyx Amulets. If you trade these in with 20 Orbs of Regret, you can get your hands on books that will gain favour with different entities. For example, trading in the Amber Amulet will get you the Book of Reform to gain Oak's favour, so try it out with whatever amulet reward that you manage to get your hands on for differing elemental results.

Increasing Damage Stats

If you are looking for a damage increase, then be sure to get your hands on either a blue or magical sceptre or wand, as well as an Alteration Orb and Ruby Ring or Sapphire Ring. These combined will earn a powerful One Handed Mace, which will add certain powers depending on the ring you choose to give to the PoE vendor recipe. Regardless of which you choose, you are looking at high increases in elemental damage. Speaking of increasing damage, you can also do so if you have a dagger, wand, staff or sceptre, as well as a Blacksmith's Whetstone and a Chain Belt.
