Fortnite Mobile Review

Fortnite Mobile Review

Play the cartoony, goofy battle royale anytime and anywhere!

Fortnite took the world by storm, just like how the maps get engulfed in a storm every round. With its more child-friendly graphics and simplistic mechanics, it enjoyed a bigger demographic than fellow battle royale game PUBG. The number of Fortnite accounts exploded exponentially in a few months after release. Plus, the addition of being able to create structures at the drop of a hat brings a whole new dimension of tactics to the genre.

No other game came quite close to their explosive popularity, helped along by some prominent streamers and later, pro-gamers. It even took so little time in accepting the game as an e-sport, which says a lot about how popular it got.

Sure, now it’s faded a little bit in the background. Many players are not satisfied with the direction it’s going, and many formerly dedicated streamers have moved on to other games. Yet it still has a pretty big player base, and many players still enjoy playing the game.

What is Fortnite Mobile?

As the name suggests, it’s a port of the famous Fortnite game into mobile devices. With the cross-play feature, mobile players can play with those who use other consoles or devices. Yes, that includes PC, Xbox, PS4/5, Switch, and other mobile players.

Gameplay remains the same, with the player being able to move, jump, glide, build, and shoot. The only difference is the lack of a mouse and keyboard input. Of course, this can be difficult to play if not used to the controls, but it makes the game more accessible even without an expensive PC or console. At least, if the device is up to it, as older models might not be able to handle the app.

Along with cross-play, there is also a cross-save between the various consoles, as long as you use the same Epic Games account for all of them. That means switching between devices is an easy process.

Top Features

Portability

As long as there is WiFi or data and the device has a charged battery, you can take your Fortnite BR adventures anywhere! Play around while waiting in line or commuting somewhere. Sibling borrowed the console? You can just whip out your phone and play there. The possibilities are endless.

Cross-Platform Play

With a unified cross-play feature, you’ll never run out of opponents to battle with. Filling maps won’t be too much of a problem, and you can put your mobile skills against console or PC players. That’s an added challenge to the game!

Cross-Save

By using the same Epic Games account across devices, your progress can be saved. You don’t have to restart in ranks or skins, nor handle two (or more) V-Buck wallets. That way there’s no worry that what you did in mobile would be rendered moot when switching devices.

All the Game’s Features

There’s almost no difference in content between the mobile and console versions. Whatever’s on the console, it’s also on the mobile version. That means every challenge, reward, and quest in the consoles are also in the mobile port. There’s no unfairness there.

How to Use

Download the app through the official site, as Epic Games had problems with Google Play and the Apple App Store. Currently, the only version available is for Android, as Apple has complete control over app distribution. Android apps have a freer distribution model, as well as APKs which make it easier.

There are rumors and talks of the iOS version returning sometime, so Apple users just have to wait patiently. Nothing’s set in stone yet, so it may be sooner or later than what is said. Rest assured that it will come, though.

If you don’t have an Epic Games account yet, it’s easy to make one. There’s also the alternative of looking for Fortnite accounts for sale, if you don’t want to start from scratch. Once you’ve gotten an account, just log in and play the game!

Pricing

Fortnite Mobile is free to download and play. Players may use their real money to buy V-Bucks, which in turn can be used for various cosmetic items from the Fortnite item shop. As a F2P game, there’s nothing you can buy with this currency that will give you an edge on the battlefield. Prices of V-Buck packages range from $8-$800, depending on how many V-Bucks you want.

Pros/Cons

Pros

Play a battle royale match anywhere, any time.

Switch between them all console versions easily

Enjoy everything the game offers whatever device you use

Cons

May eat up battery charge while playing

Control can be clumsy or hard to get used to

Need a stable internet connection

Verdict

Fortnite Mobile truly brings the experience to life in such a portable device. Of course, some features might take a hit (such as graphics) and anyone unused to playing on mobile will have a difficult time. However, the point is that they were able to port a 26GB game (on PC) to about 3GB for mobile devices. That’s without having to cut out content for mobile!

Then again, what’s a little inconvenience when you can play whenever and wherever you are? You won’t have to miss scheduled team rounds with friends. There’s also the option of sitting around a table playing the game together when you meet up with them. No need to bring laptops or consoles, just your phone and yourself.

Why not try the game out and see for yourself why people raved about Fortnite BR? It’s all the content and features of the game in the palm of your hand. Despite the negative review of veterans, there’s still so much to enjoy about the game. Don’t let a few noisy critics ruin it for you. Play the game if you truly enjoy it. If you tried it and found it’s not your thing, that’s okay too.

At any rate, have fun playing Fortnite on whatever console you use!

Why You Should Play Fortnite

Play Fortnite

Fortnite is still relevant to this day despite the stiff competition, and here are some of the reasons why it’s still worthy of being a part of your library of games.

You might’ve tried Fortnite when it was first released. We can’t blame you. It was, after all, the hottest thing at the time—and you can still argue that it is to this very day. The Battle Royale genre was still trying to find its place in the gaming community back then. Now, however, the market is oversaturated thanks to the abundance of similar games that have since been released. Tons of Fortnite tracker started popping up as well thanks to its popularity. While Fortnite didn’t invent the genre, it’s the game that really catapulted Battle Royale’s popularity to new levels.

Multiplayer online games aren’t rare these days, but most of the online competitive first-person and third-person shooting games at the time only consisted of two teams that duked it out on a certain map. Despite the stiff competition that Epic Games has, we think that Fortnite Battle Royale is still worthy of playing in 2020. Sure, the scene has shifted to the more tactical style of gameplay for online competitive FPS, but we really believe that Fortnite still has some tricks up its sleeve that can at least make you play and enjoy it just like in the old days.

  1. The Game Has Gotten Smaller

Fortnite has been making headlines lately because of how Epic Games has optimized the game to perfection; and by perfection, we mean smaller. Thanks to the recent updates and tweaks that were made by Epic, the PC version of Fortnite has shrunk down considerably. This is a great move as Fortnite had ballooned over the years. Just recently, it could easily take over 90GB of your hard drive disk space. The newest update, Patch 14.40, aimed to fix that. Besides the usual updates for the upcoming Fortnitemares 2020 and Fortnite trackers, it was surprising that Epic managed to trim the fat—and a lot of it at that! With the long-overdue tidying up done, Fortnite is now just under 30GB. Taking up less space on your PC gives you the luxury of having more room for other games that you might want to install. This is great if you’re looking to download bigger games such as Call of Duty: Modern Warfare since it requires a ton of space. By being smaller and compact, you can download the game without having to worry about it taking up too much space on your computer. So hold off on buying that extra RAM or SSD card because it looks like you won’t be needing it, thanks to Epic trimming off the excess fat.

  1. Crazy Events to Remember

Epic Games always comes out on top when it comes to managing events. With Fortnitemares 2020 coming, you have the opportunity to dip your toes in the events you haven’t experienced in Fortnite. Since it is Halloween, you can expect decors around the map that fit the bill such as cobwebs and pumpkin heads. There’s also Halloween-exclusive weapons that you can try out for a limited time if you’re into that. Besides the celebration of certain seasons such as Halloween and Valentine’s Day, Fortnite also has in-game concerts! You read that right, you can experience a concert right in front of your computer. The recent concerts they did together with Marshmello, Travis Scott, and the ultra-popular K-Pop band BTS made headlines. No one has ever seen a game host a concert before—at least not as big as what Epic did for Fortnite. If you want to take part in these crazy events, playing Fortnite or even just visiting the game every now and then to see what’s new is the way to go!

3.       Play However You Want

Fortnite is a huge game that’s available to play on almost any platform. Sure, you can’t run it on your toaster, but hey! Doom managed to run through a hundred pounds of potatoes, so anything’s possible at this point. Kidding aside, Fortnite is available to play on PC, consoles, and mobile devices. If you love to play FPS games using a mouse and a keyboard, you can use your computer—even if it doesn’t have the greatest specs. On the other hand, if you’re a controller type of player, then you can simply play on your console. Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and even the next generation consoles all have Fortnite. It’s just a matter of choosing which console you want to go with. But let’s say you don’t have both of those things and you’re always on the go, then playing Fortnite on a mobile device is perfect for you! While the screen may be small and it’s harder to aim using the touch controls on your phone, there are phone gaming accessories that can help you better your experience. What’s more, Fortnite is free to download and play on both iOS and Android devices. Whichever way you choose to play Fortnite, all the options are available for you to seize—just pick which one is the best for you.

4.       Crossplay Enabled

It’s like beating a dead horse at this point, but we’re going to say it: Fortnite has crossplay. If you’re still living under a rock, crossplay means that you can play with your friends who are on different platforms. To give you an example, let’s say your friend is inviting you to play a match together but he/she is only using a mobile device while you’re on your desktop computer. You don’t have to worry about not being able to join, as Fortnite can be played with people on all platforms!

Epic Games always manages to find things to add worthy improvements to Fortnite to make it more spectacular. That alone makes the game worth trying out in 2020. It doesn’t have great graphics and a souped-up sound stage compared to more optimized games, but what it has are cool, over-the-top events, a compact form factor, and crossplay. Besides Fortnite trackers, what do you think will be added next in Fortnite given Epic’s reputation of releasing unique updates? Let us know by leaving a comment below!

Sniping Tips and Guide for Fortnite Players

Fortnite Tips Battle Royale

Sniper rifles have the best damage output—even if it is somewhat limited by its difficulty of use. In the hands of a master, it's a weapon of lethal accuracy. It's your ticket to get a good Fortnite account level, so here are some essential tips so you can master sniping in the game.

#1: Bullet Drop

Unlike the other weapons of Fortnite, sniper rifles are affected by bullet drop. To put it simply, bullets don't instantly hit where you aim no matter how far you are. Past a certain distance, gravity will take effect and bullets will start hitting lower than where you aim.

To compensate for this, you should start aiming higher than your intended target if you want to hit at long range. How high you should aim depends on how far away the target is. The farther away they are, the higher you should aim. It'll take a bit of practice to get accurate results with these mechanics, so don't worry when you miss often. Practice makes perfect!

#2: Positioning

A wise man once said, "It's over… I have the high ground." This applies to snipers as well. Towers, as well as anything that will let you see over a wide area, are the best friends of snipers. It’s also fine to snipe on a plain, just make sure you have cover and are not being surrounded or flanked when you're there. Still, it’s way better to find a defensible high place, so be sure to make that a priority.
Fortnite's fort-building feature can help you get the high ground quickly, though it's a bit of a double-edged sword. Towers draw the attention of other players, so be aware of your construct and don't be afraid to abandon altogether it when necessary.

#3: Go for the Head

As much as possible, aim for the head. You're going to miss it many times before you can hit headshots often enough. Practice, more patience, and taking risks will eventually pay off. Just wait until they all come together. Besides, you'll never know if you could’ve have made a shot if you didn't take it altogether. Nobody likes uncertainty, so it's best to make the shot certain for better or for worse.

#4: How to Deal with Approaching Enemies

So you've been found and the other player(s) are approaching your sniping spot. They know you're there so they move erratically to prevent headshots. You take potshots but can't knock them down. What you need to do is to switch to another weapon to finish them off in a relatively easier fashion.

Make sure you're proficient enough in that other weapon that you can actually finish off the approaching threat. Practice will help you know when to switch weapons, so prepare yourself from the inevitable series of failures until you get much-needed experience. If there’s an opportunity, there’s also no shame in running away as an added option. Who cares about pride, anyway? It’s better to live to fight another day.

#5: Counter-Sniping

If you do end up in a one-on-one shootout with another sniper, there are a few things to remember. First is to find defensible cover. In team matches, you can have allies protect you from ambushes from the enemy team while you focus on their sniper. Alone, you can trap your sniping point and listen for any approaching enemy. Duck in and out of cover to bait them into giving away their position. Prepare your shot when you know they're reloading, and take the shot the moment they try to aim again.

Don't be discouraged if sniping isn't working out for you. It'll take time to get used to the gun's different mechanics and all these tips you've just read. Take it easy and enjoy the game. Soon you'll be getting those levels to add to the sweet Fortnite items you have.

Continue enjoying Fortnite!
