You can cast some of the most powerful combat spells known to Old School RuneScape thanks to this book. There are four types of spells that you can cast upon receiving this book: Ice, Blood, Shadow, and Smoke spells. Each of these has its own unique ability. For example, the Smoke Spell can inflict poison upon enemies, while Blood spells can heal the caster of 25% of its health.
