Path to Max Level: PoE Leveling Tips

PoE Leveling tips

So you’re a new player and you’re already in a rush to enjoy the endgame content but it is taking you too long to get capped! Perhaps you simply want to level up your new character in a way that’s much faster than the first, even if it costs you an arm and a leg in terms of PoE currency. Luckily for you, we’re here. For that, check out these PoE leveling guides on how you can grind your exile faster!

Beginning With the Process in Mind

In a lot of MMORPGs, you start out with the endgame build guide in mind. Even at level 1, you’ll already choose the skills that will get you the necessary endgame skills. Plus, you save up as much as possible for endgame gear and use the most affordable gear possible, provided that your PoE leveling speed doesn’t suffer because you’re a cheapskate!

In Path of Exile, your approach will be different. Rather than going right off the bat for endgame skills, you should channel your focus on PoE leveling skills in the meantime. Since active skills are in the form of skill gems rather than innate skills that are obtained by spending a finite amount of skill points, you don’t have to worry about making an irreversible mistake.

Preferably, go for AoE spells. Since you’ll be killing multiple targets at once as you reap lots of EXP really quick.

Also, you’ll have to get the gear specifically dedicated to Path of Exile leveling process if you want a much shorter time to speed up your leveling. You’ll have to go through a PoE trade for some of them, but trust us when we say that they’re absolutely worth it.

Popular examples of these are the following:

·         Tabula Rasa (body) – you get a body armor with six colorless sockets and links, allowing you to use a wide variety of skill combinations for your leveling items needs.

·         Boots with high movement speed – the higher the movement speed, the better the boots. Movement speed matters because the time you spend going from one point to another will be cut short, which means fast leveling.

·         Atziri’s Foible (amulet) – this piece of PoE Uniques give you an 80-100% mana regeneration rate, allowing you to spam spells and kill mobs faster. Also, stat requirements for gear get reduced.

The Pen and Some Rewriting

Among these, however, the PoE unique weapon called Poet’s Pen is probably the most recommended gear when it comes to Path of Exile leveling. They trigger on hit, all gems socketed on them, and a lot of players have been getting creative on what skill gem to use.

Perhaps the most brilliant use of the Poet’s Pen is by equipping two of them and giving each one a specific set of skill gems. Socket Volatile Dead, Concentrated Effect, and Elemental Focus on one, Unearth, Greater Mulitple Projectiles, and Bodyswap.

One of the pens will alternately activate Unearth and Bodyswap, which will cause you to move automatically, while Volatile Dead and its support skill gems will deal massive AoE damage type.

Since you’ll be using specific leveling gear and skill gems, you need to have the appropriate attributes for them. Unfortunately, this means you’ll have to reset your passive skill tree later on. But that’s okay since you get a free skill tree to reset anyway!

More is Not Faster

While all these things will help you level up faster, you also have to know how to use them properly. That’s why it’s not enough to kill everything you see on sight—don’t be trigger happy! In fact, contrary to the usual more kills = more EXP logic, it’s actually counter-intuitive to kill every mob you lay eyes on.

Rather than indiscriminately killing every monster you see, it’s better to target only enemies that are in groups or blue mobs. This way, you level up at a faster rate and spend less time on worthless mobs.

With these PoE leveling tips, we hope that you get to the max level really quickly so you can enjoy the endgame content you’ve been itching for. So, what are you waiting for? It’s time to get started right now!
